BIA Members

The Kanata Central Business Improvement Area (KCBIA) represents businesses within a designated boundary to enhance and promote the area’s economic development. If your business falls within our BIA boundary, you are automatically a member. There are no additional fees to benefit from our services, as a small portion of the commercial taxes that businesses in the coverage area already pay goes towards supporting the BIA initiatives.

Ambassador Program

The role of a Ambassador will be to act as the primary liaison between the BIA office, the Board and the BIA members within their specified area.

The Kanata Central BIA Board of Management identified a need for increased communication with the BIA membership hence the creation of the Ambassador Program Concept was created.

The objective of this initiative is to:

  1. Improve the communication between the executive and membership
  2. Increase the awareness of member needs and challenges
  3. Facilitate making the BIA organization more member-driven
  4. To increase the efficiency of the BIA office

Desired outcomes from this initiative include:

  1. Increased support from membership for BIA initiatives
  2. Stronger network and support for sub-committees
  3. Increased communication regarding opportunities and challenges, which are present within the different parts of the BIA territory

The captains will represent their area and will be responsible for:

  1. Facilitating communications to and from the BIA office
  2. Appropriately documenting any needs and concerns of the membership

Ambassadors will be welcomed and encouraged to assist with various sub-committees and fundraising endeavors.

ON-SITE Services

Google 360 photo:

A 360 photo for Google is a panoramic image that allows viewers to look in all directions, as if they were standing in the center of a sphere, it is an interactive view that goes in Google maps under the business profile and can be seen in any device. It is to showcase the interior of the business and exterior (when Google Street view does not have it updated). We provide interactive spheres (360 photos), We do not offer tours.

  • It takes 15 minutes to take the photos. When a business has more than 5 spaces will take around 30 minutes. The space is recommended to be organized and with no customers, if there are people all the faces will be blurred.
  • After the edits are completed (2 or 3 weeks depending on demand) the photo gets uploaded, and we share the link and instructions on how to view it.
  • One time service, unless business remodel and needs update.
Content Creation:

Banners for promotions/services, photos for websites, social media or Google My Business. Reels for social media, we post in our socials @KanataCentralBia and invite business as collaborator.

  • Required appointment for taking pics/videos or indications and info for visuals.
  • 1-2 week to deliver content material and to post it in our socials (for reels).
  • Every 6 months or 2 times per year.
  • Promotions might be published on our website.
  • To use material, business required to tag or mention us.

VIRTUAL OR ON-SITE services:

The following 3 services can be addressed in the same session, and they are a one-time thing. (1 hour approx.)

Google My business:

On-the-spot profile optimization and best practice recommendations. We do not provide Google Ads assistance.

  • Follow up email with discussed info.

Social Media:

On-the-spot review and recommendations. Neither management nor edits.
