This February, the Light the Capital Red initiative returns. Please join us and help amplify and highlight the importance of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute’s work by lighting up your windows, homes, and businesses with a red glow across Kanata.

Heart Month is an annual opportunity for individuals, groups, and businesses to raise funds and awareness for the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

The world-renowned University of Ottawa Heart Institute is a beacon for ground-breaking research, education, and excellence in innovative patient-centred care. Internationally, it is one of the top ten cardiac Institutes, ranking in the top 5% for research.
How you can participate:
- Please reach out and confirm your participation via email to ed@kanatacentral.com.
- We will provide you with a Light the Capital Red poster, (for businesses only), to proudly display in your window. (Digital copy coming soon! Printed versions are available at the Foundation office).
- Illuminate your home or business in red for the entire month of February. Get creative! We suggest red LED light bulbs, red floodlights, a neon heart-shaped light in your window or even repurposing your holiday lighting!
- Tag us on social media and show us how you’ve ‘lit up red.
