Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada increasing corporate partnership with Food Banks Canada
West Ottawa – September 14, 2023 – As food insecurity continues to rise in communities of all sizes across the country, Donnelly Mitsubishi and Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada is partnering with Food Banks Canada and local food banks in our community for the Driving Healthy Change campaign.
Food Banks Canada data shows there has been a 35 per cent increase in food bank traffic in Canada since 2019, and that one in four people said they ate less than they felt they should because there wasn’t enough money for food. Over the past two years, MMSCAN and its dealers have donated more than $300,000 to Food Banks Canada and local food banks. However, considering the escalating need, Mitsubishi Motors of Canada has committed to increase its corporate donation to Food Banks Canada, while a record number of Mitsubishi dealers across Canada, including Donnelly Mitsubishi which serves the West Ottawa market, have signed on and committed to donating funds and collecting food for local food banks.
“We are proud to say we’ve been part of the Ottawa West community for many years. Supporting those around us and giving back to the people who have supported us means everything to our whole team,” said David Bessuille, GM at Donnelly Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada President and CEO Kenji Harada said giving back is an important part of the Mitsubishi way.
As part of this year’s Driving Healthy Change campaign, Donnelly Mitsubishi located at 492 Terry Fox Drive will be collecting donations of food and funds from Sept. 18 to 31. The donations will then be delivered to The Kanata Food Cupboard the week of Oct. 2 to 6.
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada and local dealers will announce the donation totals and share photos on World Food Day on Monday, Oct. 16.
