Our goal is to make Kanata Central a vibrant, attractive, and accessible destination for residents, visitors, and businesses, where people come to shop, dine, play, stay, work, and connect.
Parking in Kanata Central
Need to park in Kanata Central? 💙 Don’t worry, every commercial area has plenty of parking available for customers, free of charge and usually right in front of your favorite stores! Whether you’re visiting shops, restaurants, or services, driving to Kanata Central is easy and convenient.
Public Transport in Kanata Central
Getting to Kanata Central without a car? 💙 Plan ahead and check your route, and allow extra time for your commute, as walking distances between places can be longer in Kanata. Terry Fox station is the most accessible station for routes coming from downtown and for getting around Kanata, and it’s right next to the Entertainment Centrum, serving routes 61, 62, 68, 161, 162, 163, 165, 168, and more.

How do I know if I’m a KCBIA member?
If your business or commercial property is located within the KCBIA boundary, you are automatically a member. This includes commercial property owners, commercial tenants, and workers within the designated commercial areas.
Homebased businesses are not KCBIA members.
Is there a membership? Or is there a cost to join?
No, there is no formal membership to join and no monthly fee.
All businesses and commercial properties within the boundary are automatically part of KCBIA. You do not need to register, sign up, or pay any additional membership costs to participate in KCBIA programs or initiatives.
How is the KCBIA funded?
A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is funded through a levy applied to commercial properties within the designated boundary. This levy is typically collected through the municipal property tax system.
The funds are then reinvested directly back into the area to support local business growth and community development.
The Board of Directors works in collaboration with the City of Ottawa, stakeholders and partners to ensure that all investments and initiatives benefit the district as a whole and reflect the needs of the business community.
How can KCBIA help my business or property?
As a KCBIA member, you have access to a wide range of support, programs, and promotional opportunities designed to help your business grow, increase visibility, and connect with the community.
We support members through:
- Marketing and promotional campaigns that attract visitors
- Community events and initiatives that encourage local shopping and exploration, including our digital rewards program and seasonal contests
- Business promotion across our digital channels, including social media, newsletters, and our website
- Streetscape improvements and beautification projects
- Regular networking opportunities, including business socials and monthly Meet & Greets
- Two annual job fairs (February and September) to support your staffing needs—free to participate, connecting you with local talent
- Tools, guidance, and learning opportunities to help your business grow
- Funding opportunities to support events hosted by local businesses
Our goal is to help make the area more vibrant, attractive, and successful for everyone operating within it.
