Misk Boutique is bringing a fresh take on modest fashion to Ottawa. Founded by Yassine, whose passion for clothing began in Toronto’s high-fashion scene as a young adult, the boutique offers a thoughtfully curated collection that blends tradition with modern designs, along with a selection of perfumes and fragrances.
“My wife had difficulty finding clothing for modest women, so a couple of years ago we started looking into available modest clothing for women in Ottawa,” said Yassine.
After spending over 20 years in healthcare, Yassine never lost his love for fashion. Now in Ottawa with his family, he saw the need for more modest fashion options and embraced the opportunity to bring his vision to life by returning to retail.
“There was a daunting curve, that was very important for me, so I started by studying the fabrics, going visiting factories directly and also learning all the necessities that it will take to become an importer and a designer as well,” shared Yassine.
Determined to bring something new, he embarked on a journey through West Asia and Europe, meeting manufacturers, studying fabrics, and learning the ins and outs of importing and design.
In November 2024, Misk Boutique celebrated its grand opening with a fashion show, marking the beginning of an exciting tradition… Seasonal Fashion Shows! These events allow customers to experience firsthand the boutique’s carefully crafted designs and see how the brand continues to grow.
“We will have seasonal fashion shows to showcase the progress of our collection,” said Yassine.
